About Neil Young

I have over 25 years’ experience as a facilitator, consultant, public speaker, teacher and author supporting public, charity and private sector organisations to explore gender, sexuality and difference, including the experiences of children and young people. I am also an integrative arts psychotherapist with a thriving private practice, working face-to-face in London as well as online across the UK and beyond. I am a faculty member at the Institute for Arts and Therapy in Education (IATE), working as an examiner, tutor and reflective group practice facilitator as well as teaching sessions on power, intersectionality, dance/movement and the transition from trainee to practising therapist. I teach a 12-week gender, sex and sexuality module at HOMA Therapy Centre, work as an Interpersonal Group Facilitator for Re-Vision and am a core trainer for the Sunflower Network, which supports child mental health professionals. I design creative trainings, workshops, conferences and events for therapy centres/trainings, universities, colleges, private schools and children and young peoples’ services. My work history includes youth work, event, research and policy development and management. I advised the first two Mayors of London on LGBT issues, founded Mosaic LGBT Young Person’s Trust and in 2022 co-authored a chapter on queer children for the ground-breaking ‘Queering Psychotherapy’ book.
