Nelson has obtained a significant degree of audit experience on large corporate clients across a diverse range of industry sectors. He has 12 years of external audit experience gained in Big 4 and mid-tier firms (EY Philippines, Mazars Singapore and Mazars Ireland). During this time, he has performed the lead coordination role on key assurance assignments with specialisation in real estate and construction, manufacturing, retail and distribution, automotive, hospitality industries and financial services industries. He has had extensive exposure to business combination/mergers, group consolidations and group audits with reporting requirements to various countries such as United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany, Philippines, Italy and USA. He has played a particularly important role in the conversion of financial statements from local GAAP to IFRS and FRS 101/102. He has also successfully completed audits from small to large public companies, including audits of US companies which include reporting under US GAAP. Nelson is a hands-on team player who constantly pushes himself to take on tasks with greater responsibility. He is a strong communicator who is able to initiate and promote innovative and creative thinking. He has been involved in facilitation of FRS 102 technical training to the members of the audit and assurance department. In addition to being a strong senior on projects, He has also taken a leadership role, inspiring and motivating other employees. Nelson has developed excellent interpersonal people skills, facilitating interaction with finance / operational personnel and demonstrating a blend of technical expertise and strong project management skills. He is extremely results driven and prides himself on the quality of the work performed and delivered, whilst operating in a highly pressurised environment.
