As the Director of Marketing for Virginia Asset Group, I worked to increase the visibility and scope of influence that Virginia Asset Group has in the Hampton Roads area and in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I focused on increasing the company's presence on the web through content management, website development, and through utilizing social media platforms. I also worked to grow the firm through advertising, bringing in speakers for broker meetings, planning broker events, and working with the press. On the business side, I was the liaison for recruitment with our broker dealer, oversaw business operations, helped bring on new brokers, created packages for clients, and provided suggestions to increase efficiency.

At Project Vote Smart, I worked with a number of interns to categorize over 15,000 speeches and public statement made by members of the United States Congress from 1990-2013. These speeches are at the core of Project Vote Smart’s belief in government transparency and the importance of educating the voter. I learned PostgreSQL and worked on a project that correlated religious beliefs to political leaning.
