Client PM for Phases 3 & 4 of the Portland Building refurbishment project where I managed phased delivery of the Portland Building refurbishment on behalf of the UoNSU. The refurbishment adapted the existing spaces into retail units, reception & office spaces, a dance studio, meeting rooms, student lead radio and TV stations together with modernising the building. Responsibilities of the position included (but were not limited to):Identification of building, zone and space requirements in line with agreed customer service strategy through staff and student communication/liaison (pre, during and post-delivery).Scrutiny of designs (Architectural, interior design, electrical, mechanical and branding)Production of concept designs in line with User requirements.Cost engineering processes.Managing and coordinating enabling works.Managing and coordinating contractors and design consultants. Communication with building users.

As part of 523 Specialist Team Royal Engineers, 62 Works Group, duties include:- Producing infrastructure design reports inclusive of specifications, works programmes, costings and associated risks of varying sized construction projects around the world.- Determining and defining requirements of construction projects.- Construction project management from concept stage through to closure.- Provide design advice on a wide range of infrastructure projects in various countries around the world. - Conduct Facilities Management duties.- Being at a high state of readiness to deploy on humanitarian and operational projects.

Kurdistan

As part of 523 Specialist Team Royal Engineers (Middle East).I deployed mid-September 2015, as a singleton post, to assume position as the OP SHADER Deputy Facility Manager (DFM)/Infrastructure expert for British Forces. Duties of DFM included but not limited to:- Ensuring contract compliance of ISP Contractor.- Reporting of response and remedial tasking.- Quality assurance of response and remedial tasking.- Auditing of response and remedial tasking, contractor performances and processes.- Maintaining and developing relationships between Contractor, Host Nation and Military personnel to ensure all parties interests are protected.- Advise and assist Contractor with requirement and design development and delivery.As the sole infrastructure expert in location, I was responsible for the following duties:- Advise and assist the Chain of Command in requirements and infrastructure matters.- Identification, defining, developing and delivery of new infrastructure requirements.- Produce and cost concept designs for Military and British Government agencies.- Quality Assurance of contractor delivered construction projects.- Conduct reconnaissance of existing infrastructure around Kurdistan to determine the suitability and safety for the use of British Forces.- Maintain and develop relationships of civilian contractor, Army, RAF, Coalition partners, Host Nation personnel and British Government agencies.

In order to streamline the logistical movements of the British Military training operations within Kenya, Laikipia Air Base (East) is currently under construction. Involving a wide variety of differing buildings and construction materials/techniques by a local contractor and sub-contractors. I took up post as the Project Continuity Officer to oversee the construction of the infrastructure on behalf of the MOD in January 2014. Duties involved in my tenure were wide ranging:- Contract scrutiny.- Tender Evaluation.- Contractor supervision.- Design interrogation, advice and approval.- Quality assurance.- Health and Safety advice and mentoring.
