Administer the county's zoning and shoreland programs and ordinances. Conduct regular site visits to review permit applications, land use violations, septic system installations, wetland permitting and regulations, and general land use questions. Prepare staff reports and analysis for Board of Adjustment and Planning Commission. Advise the public on Lake County Land Use and Septic Ordinance regulations and zoning administration procures. Regular use of GIS and legal property descriptions. Participate in special planning projects, including Coastal Erosion Hazard Mapping and Shoreland Septic System grant program.

Permitting authority for grading permits and regulatory enforcement officer for natural resource issues within the city including stormwater management, erosion control compliance and illicit discharge detection. Managed City recycling program, negotiated contract with City hauler, reported to SCORE and ReTRAC, organized bi-annual clean up events for the public, and promoted household hazardous waste awareness. Liaison for the City with local, regional and state agencies and with the general public; provided education on environmental services including wetland protection, recycling, invasive species, and stormwater management.

Primary project manager for multiple Clean Water Fund grants and the Nemadji watershed project in Carlton County. This included all administrative reporting, fiscal oversight, technical implementation, and partner coordination. Specialized training in hydrology, stream restoration, and watershed management with final products resulting in a dam removal-trout stream restoration project and a watershed fish passage culvert inventory. Responsible for securing environmental permits from federal, state and local regulatory authorities; completed an Environmental Assessment Worksheet for trout stream restoration project. Also completed GIS analysis for SWCD.
