Dynamic, Efficient, Strategic - those are all terms that describe my leadership style as Vice President at MP&F.Previously, I was the Sr. Manager - Communications, responsible for safety-related messaging for the Last Mile Program (Amazon). Before joining the Amazon team, I was Sr. Manager for East Zone Communications & Field Alignment for McDonald's. In that role I led brand alignment and communications between leadership and the company's extensive partner network. As a brand ambassador for this iconic organization, I had the pleasure of sharing the McDonald's values with all stakeholders. As the former Director of Communications for the Tennessee Department of Correction, I was directly responsible for all internal and external communication. The Public Relations team crafted all Department messaging. The Inmate Correspondence & Public Engagement staff were tasked with responding to inmate letters and the Central Communications Center was the emergency dispatch team for the Department. Each of these teams influenced how TDOC enhanced the safety of the community. Before my transition into corporate communications, I was the Emmy award-winning Assignment Manager for NewsChannel5 in Nashville, Tennessee. Most recently, I used my expertise to inform ASCA members how to utilize social media to share the positive impact of their correctional agencies. I previously taught nonprofits how to increase their audience at the Center for Nonprofit Management and facilitated a presentation at the NABJ Region III Conference in Charlotte, NC. I am also the former President of the Nashville Chapter of NABJ. In addition to my corporate communications career, I contribute to many blog sites as a freelance writer and recently published a book, "Congrats on Your Engagement: Letters to Tiffany" (New Season Books & Media).A graduate of Tennessee State University with a B.A. in Speech Communication and Theater and a M.Ed. in Education Administration, I firmly believe in the school's motto of "Think. Work. Serve." I am always ready to volunteer in the community by working with many non-profits, including the local chapter of TSUNAA.Research, crisis management, planning, and thinking several steps ahead are things I do naturally. In a crisis, I am the woman you want on your team, because with me any obstacle is but a mere speed bump.
