As Senior Planner and project manager, I have led and provided technical expertise improving transit service on various national projects through careful and detailed analyses. I am dedicated to fully collaborating with stakeholders and decision makers, informing them to effectively expand mobility across their jurisdictions, and equitably including community members to craft successful results. I firmly believe in transit’s transformational power to further social equity goals, reduce carbon emissions, support economic development, and improve community inclusivity and individual well-being.My experience includes development of project scope and budget and managing project resources, assigning tasks to junior staff and reviewing quality of completed work, as well as collaboration with multidisciplinary team members and external staff to complete deliverables. I have presented recommendations to and gathered feedback from elected officials, agency staff, stakeholders, and the public in a variety of representative roles. I am adept at data collection and analysis of performance and utilization data, including the analysis of marginalized population data to further social justice goals relating to expanding mobility; finding relationships in data such as ridership, public feedback, route statistics data, or route performance data; calculating financials, allocated resources, or annual O&M costs; and modeling resource requirements and service efficiency.My projects have included developing high-capacity transit and planning for network integration, corridor studies, development of comprehensive systemwide changes, and scenario-based transit development plans to recommend improvements or to develop new services. My recent experience has involved consideration for the acute and continuing long-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on loss of revenue, reallocation of resources to support essential worker services, and analysis of equity population impacts.

At CTG I’ve assisted in deputy and leadership roles on a range of projects related to community-driven transit service planning and operations analysis. I provide meaningful information to our clients to help them make informed decisions from analysis to recommendations to implementation so they can equitably provide the best possible service. CTG specializes in transit systems and operations planning, comprehensive long-range planning, ridership forecasting, market analysis, and financial and economic analysis.Some of my responsibilities involve reviewing socioeconomic data or transit operations data to analyze transit utilization and determine improvement opportunities. Every project needs good visualizations of the movement of people and transit, so I create many of my project's visualizations of spatio-geographic and socioeconomic data. I create travel time estimations for projects in the planning stage and calculate annual operations and maintenance costs for existing and new services. I've worked on numerous comprehensive operational analyses which survey all aspects of transit systems; alternatives analyses which explore multiple transit modes in order to determine the optimal service for specific corridors; and transit development plans which seek to improve existing transit systems or help develop new services or systems.

As Administrative chair, I was responsible for administrative functions related to getting the newly founded Seattle Chapter up and running smoothly in February 2013, regularly communicating with YPT National, and assisting other board members as needed with their duties. I also assisted in planning and organizing networking events, facility tours and panel discussions.

During my time at the Enterprise Innovation Institute within the Community Innovation Services unit, I assisted in a variety of projects. The Georgia Manufacturer’s Extension Partnership sought to gather various data about the state’s industries in order to better serve the manufacturing sector and help spur innovation and job creation. I conducted interviews with leaders and managers in the manufacturing sector in multiple states and helped compile information about how other states were utilizing clearinghouse dataAnother important project involved collecting economic, demographic, and transportation data within the metro Atlanta region, as well as compiling a large, comprehensive database of metro Atlanta’s non-profits to determine funding gaps and overlapping services provided by the area’s human services organizations. The Community Foundation utilized this information to better understand areas of greatest need. To this end, I helped facilitate informational charrettes involving many local leaders and stakeholders in Cherokee and Butts County.Ongoing work for the CIS involved extracting, cleaning, and compiling data used to track quarterly economic indicators for multiple counties. Much of the data and reporting was web-based and was immediately available to respective counties.

My internship at Glatting Jackson involved assisting on a wide range of urban design, land use and transportation related projects, with many including all aspects of land use planning. For many projects I utilized ArcGIS and Adobe CS4 to create maps and graphics which were in turn used in final presentations and reports. Hand illustrated graphics were used as well. Many projects needed extensive traffic engineering and four-step modeling.A major project I was heavily invested in was a context sensitive redesign for a congested corridor in northeastern Pennsylvania. The project involved understanding the existing unfinished attempt by PennDOT to remedy congestion, historical context, the community’s needs and desires, and situational best practices. The end result was a proposal for the area and a broad plan for context sensitive design for the state.Another favorite project I helped author was a recommendation report for accessory dwelling units in the state of Florida. Born from a developer’s desire to increase density within a specific subdivision, the report went on to explain positive impacts of ADUs as well as illustrate best practices for ADU inclusion in communities.

In my position as teaching assistant I instructed two labs which required a thorough knowledge of transportation engineering in order to present field material, laboratory course, and supplemental lecture material. I oversaw grading for all course assignments and provided tutoring and office hours.

Savannah, Ga

In my first internship in the field of planning, I quickly adapted to high demands in order to understand complex issues and the political-planning ecosystem. My first assignment was to help coauthor the City of Savannah’s Context Sensitive Design request for proposal which was later won by Glatting Jackson. In this effort, I reviewed many consultant proposals and held a position on the RFP task committee.I also began the application process for the Federal Highway Administration’s 2006 Transportation Planning Excellence Award. The City of Savannah felt its transportation planning project, Connecting Savannah: Moving People – Making Neighborhoods was an excellent example of involving many communities within Savannah in order to understand transportation needs. The project later won that year’s award.
