Within this role, I develop PLC/HMI programs and automation systems for multiple applications, including refrigeration and water treatment. I work autonomously and in a high-performance team of up to 11 staff.This includes gathering customer requirements, end-to-end project leadership, working closely with electrical engineers and electricians. I also complete fact-finding, WIP and fault reporting, develop reports for clients on request, and work onsite with electricians to ensure correct installation.In addition, I gather customer feedback to ensure satisfaction and inform improvements and changes, and provide ongoing customer support to resolve issues. In addition, I complete IT solution development, including creating tools to improve team productivity.Managing data and records in the company CRM, I also ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as relevant legislation and standards. Most notably, I have planned, programmed and commissioned PLC/HMI programs and automation systems for a number of leading companies, including JBS Riverina, Thomas Food International, Aldi Australia and Arnott's Biscuits. Delivering all projects on time and at or under budget, these solutions delivered a range of benefits, including increased productivity and throughput, product line expansion potential and energy savings.

Within this early role, I developed PLC/HMI programs and a sound understanding of tools and software, which supported a promotion into the role of System Controls Engineer after six months.Daily duties included confirming project requirements by reviewing program objectives, input data and output requirements, and establishing project requirements in programming sequence.I also prepared workflow charts and diagrams, and encoded project requirements, tested and confirmed program operation, and conducted modifications as required.In addition, I developed operating instructions for end-uses and provided troubleshooting support, as well as maintaining historical records of program development and revisions.Most notably within this role, I reverse engineered and programmed the SCADA system for a large-scale water treatment plant, utilising this knowledge to build SCADA templates for future projects. I also developed the SCADA/HMI system for a plant within Thomas Food International.In addition, I developed an automated tool for ordering/tracking material, now used as standard across Tristar Electrical.Additional to this role was the management of the company’s in-house IT/network support, including server management, desktop support and helpdesk functions. This included managing the smooth and successful rollout of the iPhone/iPad plan for 50+ employees.
