Led the politics team at local news desk- Guided print and web coverage for the General Elections; Our team also pioneered some of the new live debate and news analysis formats on web platform Zaobao.sg - Awarded Best News Report at the annual Chinese Media Group awards for coverage of the Workers Party during GE2020 - Spearheaded the creation of a new flagship brand ZB Lectures. The current series Understanding Southeast Asia, a series of six bilingual lectures featuring experts sharing on topics such as politics, nationalism, religion, military-monarchy relations, is still ongoing.

I was part of a pioneer team that led the drive for content transformation in our newly-set up integrated newsroom. We focused on producing long-form features across print and online platforms and pushed for more collaborative work across different teams. We also had fun trying out different content presentations, experimenting with storytelling with visual imagery, sound and video.

I started my career as a crime reporter writing for Lianhe Zaobao, Singapore's flagship Chinese publication. In my earlier years as a journalist, I covered local breaking news and politics, as well as geopolitical developments in the region as part of ad-hoc reporting stints at conferences such as the ASEAN Summit, G20, APEC and ASEM. -Named Young Journalist of the Year in 2013 for outstanding reporting work-Produced print features and profile interviews on Singapore politics, youth and civil society-Covered the 2011 Presidential Election and the 2013 Punggol by-election as a rookie political journalist-Started writing analysis and commentary pieces for Zaobao's Sunday editionI still write my own monthly column "Black/White"(黑白之间) in the Sunday op-eds.
