I’m a dedicated higher education professional with a focus on admissions, international education, and global student engagement. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Spanish from Northern Michigan University (2014) and my Master of Arts in Higher Education Leadership from Siena Heights University (2021). In 2023, I began pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education at the University of Toledo.Prior to my higher education career, I spent a year teaching English in Montevideo, Uruguay in 2016 and I continued teaching ESL/EFL online until 2021.At Defiance College, I’ve held several roles. I started as the Financial Literacy Education Coordinator in the Institute for Career Readiness and Lifelong Learning. In February 2022, I was promoted to Assistant Director of Admissions / Coordinator of Digital Marketing, and by October 2022, I became Director of Service Learning and Study Abroad in the McMaster School for Advancing Humanity. Currently, I serve as Director of Admissions and International Education. In this role, I oversee admissions counselors, manage data reporting, coordinate communications for prospective students and families, serve as the PDSO for international students, lead the First-Year International Trip, and will soon begin to develop study abroad programs and partnerships.I have extensive experience in Latin America. I studied abroad three times, including at Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola in Lima, Peru (2011) and on faculty-led trips to Cuba (2013 & 2014). As mentioned before, I taught English in Uruguay (2016-2017) and have returned to Peru several times. Additionally, I’ve traveled to Argentina, Belize, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Mexico. Other international travel includes: France, Greece, Netherlands, Poland, and Slovakia. My work is driven by a passion for promoting global education, fostering cross-cultural connections, and supporting student development.
