Engineered an electrical motor to study the aerodynamics of sand flow under variable vacuum pressures. I designed and implemented a robust control system for the motor, ensuring reliable operation within a vacuum environment. Through detailed analysis and documentation, I examined the impact of different pressures on the aerodynamics of sand flow.

This research project delves into installing and testing a cold sub-miniature type A (SMA) coaxial connector switch for the cryogenic testing of Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detectors (MKIDs). The cryostat used to test these detectors contains a helium dilution refrigerator which achieves a base temperature of 10 mK. The time associated with cooling down, testing, and warming up can take up to a week per test cycle. This project aimed to reduce the frequency of this long process by installing the SMA switch, which will include careful installation of the cryogenic SMA Switch. This will allow testing up to six detector samples in one cooldown.
