I have been working in the childcare sector for the last 8 years and I am a qualified A1 assessor in childcare. When working towards my A1 award I used my strong childcare knowledge and experiences to pass onto my individual candidates that I was working with. I have been a team leader for a kindergarten in Australia, having to take responsibility for a team of three and each individual child who was attending the nursery. My responsibilities included to carrying out observations on every child and plan the weekly rota for the room, making sure all areas of personal development and education were covered. I pride myself in ensuring all staff, parents and children had a good relationship to create a friendly and safe environment. My most recent job in the childcare industry was being a nanny in the French Alps, where I had the experience of working with special need children and babies from the age of 3 months. My role was working as a private nanny where I would be based in the clients holiday accommodation with access to the Crèche. I also worked on a cruise ship for a year.As an A1 assessor my responsibilities in this role was preparing and conducting assessments in childcare. I am trained to manage a caseload of up to 35 learners, completing start up paper work including numeracy and literacy assessments with candidates. When assessing candidates I used a range of assessment methods such as personal discussions, observations, Q&A, assessments to suit every candidates needs.I pride myself in being polite, friendly, discreet and behaving in a professional manner at all times when communicating with clients, I fully understand the importance of building a good rapport with all colleagues and customers. Throughout my career I have always been a confident team player and always prepared to work on my own initiative. I have managed change and been part of a change culture and I believe that I adapt well to change in a positive manner.
