As the Regional Manager, I act as the business planning and development consultant for Retailers under my control, understanding and contributing to the Retailer’s business plan. The main objective of this role is to maximise the levels of new business and profitability for BMW Group Financial Services and the Retailers, as well as supporting BMW Motorrad UK sales strategy and encouraging customer retention. The aim is that this will financially benefit BMW Group Financial Services as well as supporting Retailer and BMW Motorrad UK sales and profitability achievement. Regionally based, I work in close cooperation with both internal and external partners where I excel in developing innovative strategies to promote our products providing support and meeting Retailers regularly in face to face visits, effectively engaging and building relationships with them in order to maximise volume, product mix and profit opportunities. Occasional travel to our Farnborough UK head office is also required.

The role involves providing efficient wholesale finance solutions and relationship management for clients of Mercedes-Benz Bank in the UK. These are primarily the major dealer networks, who operate under MB franchise agreements, and their parent companies. These businesses usually require asset, working capital and acquisition finance solutions and the role involves structuring and supporting these propositions from origination and legals through to monitoring and control, conscious of minimising credit risk, maximising company profit and remaining in line with UK and German banking regulations.

As one of six Business Operations Graduates on the Mercedes-Benz Graduate Scheme I had the opportunity to rotate around the three main businesses in the UK over an 18 month period.My first assignment was within the Marketing Department for Mercedes-Benz Retail Group. Here I was responsible for Digital and Social Media Marketing which involved managing and maintaining the portfolio of websites and social media pages. In my 6 months here I delivered a brand new careers website for the group (including the design process and implementation), increased the social media following tenfold and worked with several agencies to ensure the Digital Mercedes-Benz experience was reflective of the brand.For my second placement I worked within the Product Management Department focusing specifically on the smart brand, e-Mobility and Telematics. This gave me the opportunity to combine my analytical skill set with my passion for cars. Here I delivered the run out strategy for the current smart fortwo and planned for the successors, the new fortwo and new forfour.During my final placement in Retail Underwriting (Mercedes-Benz Financial Services) I discovered that one of my main strengths is my ability to analyse data and interpret financial information to make intelligent credit risk decisions. Here I developed relationships with the Business Managers across the Mercedes-Benz network to ensure that they understood the decision making process in the underwriting analysis without sharing confidential information on private individuals. Not only did I spend six months underwriting retail applications but I also delivered a number of projects such as working with the brand partners to investigate the Sewell’s Survey Results to ensure that Mercedes-Benz maintain the number one position for the eighth year in a row.
