At Limeway Wiltshire I developed an understanding of the significance of our built heritage and experienced, first hand, the complex challenges of working with traditional buildings in the modern world. As our work was largely based in rural villages, local community engagement was often key to project success. Responsibilities included:1. Utilising traditional methods to carry out sympathetic repairs, ensuring all work was completed to a high level of craftsmanship (repointing, rebuilding, rendering, plastering etc). 2. Working with and learning about traditional and vernacular building materials (lime mortars, cob, flint, chalk etc). 3. Collaborating with other heritage craftsmen (stonemasons, thatchers, timber framers etc). 4. Stakeholder management (clients, local authorities, architects etc).5. Project management (budget forecasting and management, material procurement, liaising with sub contractors etc).
