I'm a Paratrooper with the 1-501st GERONIMOS currently stationed in Ft. Richardson. I'm originally from Georgia, but Alaska has kind of grown on me a little bit. I've honselty enjoyed most of my 2.5 years in the Army thus far. As an airborne infantryman I've had the chance to use various firearms for the first time in my life. I've gotten to jump out of C-130s, C-17s, and a Sherpa. Obtaining a secret security clearance is pretty nice bonus to being airborne. Living in Alaska can be harsh during field training because it's freezing or below up here 9 months out of the year. I have been assigned the machine gun for my 4-man team for for about 2 years now because my team leader has total confidence in my marksminship and maturity with such a dangerous weapon. Being a paratrooper means completing a lot of aircraft jumps and conducting military operations afterwards; I had the opportunity to jump into Australia in 2013 for a large-scale training operation that was successful. In April of 2014 I went to Ft. Polk in Louisiana for another large training operation where I was tasked with rigging up 50+ military vehicles to be airlifted during the 2 week time frame we were given.When I leave the Army I'm going to enroll in school so that I can complete my BA in Psychology then apply to graduate school. I want to obtain my MA in Forensic Psychology before becoming a law enforcement officer.
