My journey to the medical field started when I became a patient. When I was young I would walk up stairs and my left knee would experience substantial pain. The pain would on occasion cause a clumsy tumble down the stairs. After seeing enough of this behavior my family got me to an Orthopaedic surgeon who corrected the issue in my knee. It was a wonderful gift! After many Orthopaedic surgeries later the curiosity about becoming a doctor exponentially grew. While volunteering I stumbled across a text book with angiography photos and coronary bypass descriptions that solidified my desire to become a heart surgeon. It didn’t come easy. Friends and family on occasion doubted me. I had to work incredibly hard in school sacrificing the “normal college” experience and the dream eventually became a reality. My professional goal each day is to deliver the highest quality care to my patients. To give them cutting edge honest information about their condition, and options to treat it. I try and set an example for my team in the operating room to be better everyday. My personal goal each day is be a great husband and father.
