While I have always been passionate about security (coming from a military family), I never considered a career in it until I had my first taste while working with Comcast. What started out as a hobby to pass the time has evolved into a deep seated love in an ever changing industry. This was only emboldened after obtaining my Security+ certification and breaking into the industry thanks to a contract position with the University of Cincinnati. At the University, I was given the chance to test my skills, challenge myself, and protect users in real time. While I had previous experience using Splunk and Azure, the chance to use them (in addition to earning my Duo Admin cert) in a real scenario was both enlightening and eye opening. I also found a love of vulnerability management using Qualys VMDR. Over the next few years, I aim to obtain my OSCP and dig deep into world of penetration testing.
