•Gathered a variety of factors to identify low running efficiency Rice-A-Roni seasoning packet skus. Analyzed data and conducted multiple testing runs to create and implement new centerlines that will optimize quality and decrease the side seal width variability of that critical product.•Captured throughputs at multiple points along the plant’s largest pasta press to identify, calculate, and quantify waste streams throughout this entire process. •Led a team of individuals that managed the entire plant’s quality wall process to ensure maximum quality and decrease the amount of damaged products being produced at the plant•Converted 90 outdated LOTO procedures into a modernized format that includes the use of pictures and other visual aids to decrease misunderstanding amongst workers.

•Supported the Energy Star Building Performance Summary for 70 buildings at the University of Chicago Hyde Park Campus to meet compliance deadlines for the City of Chicago. •Organized and updated all of the campus's chilled water drawings. This included pipe specifications, valve locations, and mainly the campus chilled water distribution map. After surveying the entire campus, I updated the chilled water distribution map in AutoCAD. Within AutoCAD, I changed valve locations, added in the multiple new pipe locations, and altered previously incorrect pipe placements. •Surveyed a large campus utility plant and helped implement a lighting schedule to reduce wasted energy and unneeded costs. I was able to create an energy analysis and cost savings spread sheet that laid out each room's unique lighting information and total savings. This project yielded both immediate and long-run savings for the university, with very minimal up-front costs. •This internship also offered me a lot of up-close and hands on experience related to my field of study.

One of only six students hired to perform external grounds keeping and internal maintenance duties for the Munster School System. Was asked to return this past summer.
