I am pleased to share that I have been appointed to serve a three-year term on the Apprenticeship Training Advisory Committee (ATAC) of the Texas Workforce Investment Council (TWIC). Just to be considered for the position is a true honor and I hope to bring meaningful advice and substantive recommendations to the council concerning apprenticeship in Texas.

Adaptive Construction Solutions, Inc. (ACS) is a Service-Connected Disabled Veteran owned and operated company. ACS sponsors a Department of Labor Community-based group (non-joint) Registered Apprenticeship program for multiple occupations in several industries. ACS performs apprentice outreach, delivers industry recognized training, and manages apprenticeship administrative functions for employers throughout the nation. ACS is focused on serving veterans, transitioning service members and other populations with barriers to employment.

The EnVision Center Demonstration is an integral component of the federal strategy to address the needs and improve the economic conditions of low-income populations by stimulating economic opportunity and mobility, increasing self-sufficiency, and promoting economic development. To expand opportunities for low-income families to achieve self-sufficiency, EnVision Centers coordinate the delivery of programs and services across government agencies, community-based organizations, philanthropic foundations and private industry. Programs and services are organized in a model called the Four Pillars of Self- Sufficiency to improve individual outcomes as well as enhance program efficiency and effectiveness. The strategy of the Gulf Coast EnVision Center is focused on creating effective partnerships through ongoing business engagement to promote self- sufficiency and expand economic opportunity and mobility. The Center will assist low-income families gain meaningful employment through work-based learning programs that offer a combination of paid jobs, credentials and career pathways. This approach will promote greater access to apprenticeships, on-the-job training and paid internships. To remove barriers that may prevent successful outcomes, participants will receive supportive wrap-around services coordinated through local, faith-based and community-based organizations.
