In the summer of 2017, Euclid Media Group hired me to oversee the launch of Out in STL, a quarterly magazine for the LGBTQ communities of St. Louis. My job was to curate, assign and edit the first issue. It came out in September 2017, and I stayed on as managing editor for two more issues.

Arrived in the region in March 2013, studied Spanish, then began pitching. Wrote for the New York Times, InSight Crime, Los Angeles Times, VICE News, Foreign Policy, Christian Science Monitor, GlobalPost. Wrote in-depth profiles of an MS-13 gang leader in El Salavdor and a rogue US military contractor in Honduras. Also covered national elections, child.

Presented research in Spanish in Guatemala City; briefed congressional aides on Capitol Hill. After publication, Guatemala's National Commission for Drug Policy Reform solicited my input on how to reform poppy.

Was invited by Pulitzer Prize winner Walt Bogdanich to the New York Times right after graduate school to expose pension fraud at the Long Island Rail Road. Our series of eight stories revealed nearly all former LIRR employees were getting federal disability payments.
