I am a problem solver and a team player.In my role as shop manager at Thoughtforms Corporation, a custom homebuilder in Acton, MA specializing in highly sustainable design and construction, I work with a team of talented people whose competence, professionalism and commitment to excellence and sustainability is extraordinary. I am an active Board Member for Boston Building Resources (BBR), a nonprofit organization with the mission to inspire, educate, and empower homeowners to increase the efficiency and value of their homes, and lessen the industry’s impact on the environment. We have a reuse center that keeps building materials out of landfills and gives them a second life.While at Pine Street Inn, a Boston-based nonprofit with the mission of ending homelessness, I developed a social enterprise that provides transitional employment opportunities to individuals who face significant barriers to employment, including a history of incarceration, substance abuse, trauma, and/or homelessness. Boston HandyWorks was a training program where trainees design and manufacture high-quality wood cutting and serving boards for wholesale and retail distribution. HandyWorks also provides building and land maintenance services. The program had no outside funding; 100% of revenues generated by the businesses support the program.
