Conservation measures evaluated and submitted for utility financing include:• Interior and exterior LED lighting retrofits• Daylight harvesting controls for new LEDs in horticultural applications• Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) retrofit viability on a wide array of fluid-pumping applications• Retrofitting VFDs and advanced digital controls onto eligible rooftop HVAC equipment• Adding insulation to steam distribution lines or boiler feedwater lines• Retrofitting heat recovery economizers on the exhaust stack of boilers• Retrofitting advanced controls to optimize operation of central Chiller plants• Evaluating compressed air systems for either VFD retrofit eligibility or complete replacement with a brand-new variable-speed unit if existing equipment is past its service life.• Worked to develop channels, relationships, and set in place a system for developing carport, roof- or ground-mounted photovoltaic systems for interested customers; managed development of preliminary solar designs and worked with partner vendors to procure quotes for roughly 3 dozen solar projects, totaling nearly $30 Million in estimated project costs. • Worked with partner manufacturers to evaluate the feasibility of installing battery storage systems for interested customers; designs were varied based on the customer’s desired function (peak-load shaving, back-up storage), as well as their desired backup capacity and duration.
