About Nicholas Verdugo

I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, and am a proud alumnus of Jesuit High School. After graduation, I attended the University of Florida in Gainesville and graduated in Spring of 2022 with my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. I am about to complete my M.S. in Computer Science at UF graduating in December 2024. I really enjoy the outdoors - camping, hiking, rock climbing, and cycling are some of my favorite ways to experience nature. I've also recently started weightlifting. I am passionate about up and coming technology, especially in the realms of AI and machine learning. I have worked with Iveda Solutions, KCL Robotics, and the Gary J. Miller Orthopedic Biomechanics Lab at UF to assist with development of novel solutions in the realms of AI and Machine Learning. My experience with KCL has allowed me to work on developing software for a new, industry-changing medical device, and machine learning enabled video augmentation for a medical application, using common Python libraries such as OpenCV, NumPy, and Matplotlib. My work in the lab has allowed me to improve my C++ skills, and become acquainted with UF's HPC, HiPerGator, and the workflow afforded by access to it. I am a motivated, hard worker who is always willing and excited to learn something new. I excel in collaborative settings, in areas where I know I will be challenged but will also be supported as I improve myself. I have full time interests in any and all software development and computer science-related fields.

Listed skills include Leadership, Writing, Stem, Digital Art, and 39 others.
