About Nicholas Alifa

With over ten years of experience in the food and agricultural sector, cutting across industry, academia, and policy development, I am a food research scientist focusing on the intersection of food security, technology, and climate change. My research seeks to answer the question, ‘How can we use existing technology or develop emerging ones that can help us feed the world without harming the environment? 'At the National Centre for Food Manufacturing, University of Lincoln, I support the development of dissemination and communication of the decarbonising narrative for food products in the S3 Project in collaboration with Reynor Foods, University of Cambridge and Software Imaging. As a Food System Thematic Lead at the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), I coordinate the activities of the food system thematic group of the NESG Committee of Practice on Youth (CoPYOUTH), providing scientific research and evidence-based policy recommendations to ensure food security and nutrition for all.I recently served as a research fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and a Next Generation ambassador at the Global Food Symposium, a forum that brings together global leaders and experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the food sector.I have published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals on food product development, food quality, nutrition, and innovation. I have received several prestigious awards and scholarships, including the Commonwealth Scholarship, the Borlaug-Adesina Fellowship, and the Harvard Executive Education Scholarship. I am passionate about the growth of young Africans and, through Nichub Capacity Development Centre, a platform I co-found, help them achieve their desired growth through mindset reengineering. I am always on the lookout for opportunities to create, deliver, and capture value.
