At the University of Lincoln's National Centre for Food Manufacturing, I work on the S3 project in partnership with Reynors Food, the University of Cambridge, and Software Imagine to generate real-time sustainability indicators data from the manufacturing line to reduce environmental impactIn this role, I support the development of dissemination and communication of the S3 project by:- Developing and designing content for websites and media, using engaging and informative formats and styles, to showcase the carbon footprints of products manufactured in the S3 project.- Delivering assessments of carbon footprint packaging and logos on products and obtaining consumer and customer assessment/survey data to evaluate the impact and perception of the S3 project's communication strategy.- Supporting the technology transfer and design of digital and printed content by providing consumer insight data to help the S3 project's partners adopt and implement the S3 project's solutions and innovations.- Developing educational content that will support the training, enhanced understanding, and gamification activities of the S3 project's carbon footprinting in the workforce and markets, using interactive and creative methods and tools.Through this role, I am gaining valuable skills and experience in:- Data collection and analysis, using various sources and methods to gather and interpret data on manufacturing processes, carbon footprints, and consumer behaviour.- Content creation and management, using various formats and platforms to create and deliver relevant, accurate, and appealing content to different audiences and stakeholders.- Communication and dissemination, using effective strategies and techniques to communicate the S3 project's objectives, outcomes, and benefits to various groups and individuals.- Collaboration and teamwork, working with diverse and cross-functional teams, and building and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners.

As the food system thematic team lead, I am instrumental in shaping the policy agenda and driving reforms in the Nigerian food sector as it relates to youth. I closely with the Policy Commission Facilitator, the NESG Secretariat, and other thematic group leads, to plan, execute, and monitor various initiatives and programs to improve food security, nutrition, and sustainability.One of my key responsibilities is to prepare the annual budget, work plan, and stakeholder mapping for the food system thematic group. I also conduct diagnostic analysis and policy briefs on the food sector and present them at the Youth Summit and the Nigerian Economic Summit (NES). These presentations enables me to engage with key policymakers, institutions, and citizens to advocate for and facilitate the adoption of policy recommendations from the Youth Summit and NES.Another significant aspect of my role is to develop ideas and studies for the Community of Practice in collaboration with the NESG Research Unit. I evaluate the impact and outcomes of adopted recommendations and provided feedback to the Commission, which helps to refine the policy agenda going forward.Overall, my role as the food system thematic team lead contributes to the development of a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient food system in Nigeria.

The NESG Bridge Fellowship was initiated in 2019 by the Board of Directors to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Nigerian Economic Summit (NES#25). The NESG, in collaboration with LEAP Africa, launched the NESG Bridge Fellowship to equip a new cadre of young visionary leaders with leadership, research and policy advocacy skills to contribute to policy reform in Nigeria.As a Bridge Fellow, I provided comprehensive desk support to the Agriculture and Food Security Policy commission of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG), contributing to research and analysis on relevant policy issues.I served on the Expert committee for the development of the National Food Safety and Quality Bill, providing expertise and advice on best practices and regulations, and helped to guide its implementation and regulation.I acted as a rapporteur for the 27th and 28th Nigeria Economic Summit Group, responsible for accurately documenting and summarizing discussions and decisions for the commission,I was part of a team responsible for developing a framework for evaluating the linkages between the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the National Development Plan, ensuring alignment of these important initiatives.I worked on an expert forum focused on the stakeholders' formative dialogue for the FCDO Funded Inclusive Digital Transformation Programme in Nigeria and contributed with my expertise in identifying key opportunities and challenges for the initiative and devise strategies to overcome them.

As a research assistant at the food processing pilot plant of the Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences, I am responsible for a range of critical tasks in an innovative project to develop protein ingredients from sea mussels. My primary focus is to ensure that the project runs smoothly and efficiently, delivering high-quality protein ingredients that meet the requirements of both food and feed applications.One of my key responsibilities is to test and optimize various processing equipment and methods to develop protein ingredients from sea mussels. I utilize my technical skills to evaluate the processability, efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of the different processing equipment and methods. This involves conducting experiments, analyzing data, and documenting and reporting the results and findings of the testing process.In addition, I am responsible for developing different protein ingredients such as puree, powder, frozen meat, and frozen minced meat from sea mussels. I ensure that the protein ingredients meet the required specifications, and I troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues or challenges related to the processing equipment and methods.Throughout the project, I work closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and stakeholders in the field. I communicate clearly with my colleagues and provide support to ensure that the project runs smoothly. Through this project, I have gained invaluable hands-on experience and technical skills in operating and optimizing a diverse range of processing equipment and methods for developing protein ingredients.

As an essential member of the production team, my primary responsibility was operating food production equipment and ensuring ingredients' safe and efficient processing. It involves following standard recipes and production schedules to maintain product consistency and paying close attention to quality control processes. I am responsible for ensuring the cook maintains high hygiene standards by strictly adhering to food safety and hygiene protocols. Additionally, I worked collaboratively with my team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

They are expected to mix with people of other tribes, social and family backgrounds, to learn the culture of the indigenes in the place they are posted to. This action is aimed at bringing about unity in the country and to help youths appreciate other ethnic groups.
