BEYOND FARM INTERVENTION Many interventions to improve the African Food system focus mainly on enhancing farming output and farmers while doing little or nothing for the post-farm components such as food product development, manufacturing, and other related areas. However, suppose Africa is to successfully feed the 25% of the world population that would reside in it by 2050 and compete favourably in the global food market. In that case, we need a more comprehensive approach. CAFRI is a platform designed to fill this gap. Our mission is to facilitate research and innovation beyond the farm level, provide opportunities for value addition, and promote product development to thrive. This will enable us to accelerate the transformation of the African Food System to feed 2.5 billion people by 2050 and deliver the resilience we require.
