Joined active duty United States Air Force in 2015 as a 1N4X2 being placed in a 6-month technical training course to be stationed at Fort Meade, MD. My first few years involved working with US Cyber Command as a Target Digital Network Analyst by utilizing signals intelligence to support computer network operations. During this time, I gained a lot of insight into cybersecurity roles from both a defensive and offensive position understanding tools and methodologies. Over time, I obtained my degree in intelligence studies and soon will finish my bachelor's in cybersecurity technology. For the rest of my career, I have been in similar positions for target development supporting federal departments and agencies. I plan to transition outside of this field into a cybersecurity role to specifically focus on defensive measures such as utilizing SIEM, SOAR, DLP, and EDR tools to further my experience within cybersecurity. I currently use open-source resources such as TryHackMe and CompTIA to enhance my knowledge to be able to apply what I have learned to a future role within cybersecurity.
