As lead designer for the Pitman Training Group, I am required to develop marketing materials for the network, including Press Ads, Web Marketing, Printed Materials, Exhibition Graphics, POS and Ambient Media. I have also created numerous websites and web apps for marketing campaigns.I work with the franchise partners in the network to develop good quality, effective marketing campaigns and accurate, timely design work.

I used by creative abilities to help a number of companies and individuals as a freelance designer / web developer - building up a number of close contacts and repeat business.

I was recruited by Disq, a new media company as they expanded their core services to encompass a range of digital solutions including web-based applications, CD-ROM, multimedia, mobile applications and e-learning tools.I was responsible for developing new products and designing engaging user experiences.As studio manager I was responsible for heading a small studio and mentoring designers and developers.

Vital offered me a great level of creative freedom. I gained a lot of experience in all aspects of web design and was quick to utilise technologies such as CSS early, which became invaluable as the Disability Act recommendations came into force.Later I was able to develop my skills further as part of a sub-group in the company, producing special projects both online and on CD-ROM. Key achievements included:• Production of a high profile website for Sequencehomes, which needed to be bulletproof in terms of browser compatibility and was subject to rigorous testing.• Production of an accessibility-compliant website called ‘Motability’ for Royal & SunAlliance.• Production of a high-profile microsite for MORETHAN, which was featured in television adverts.• Production of websites for high-profile companies such as Silver Cross, Maiden Outdoor, JC Decaux, Porcelanosa, Poster Publicity etc. Responsibilities included:• Design of bespoke websites for a range of clients• Design and build of bespoke web-based projects• Coding and implementation of CD-based multimedia• Research and development of new media technologies• Liaising with clients and taking design briefs in person and on the telephone

I was recruited to join this new start-up design company to help get it off the ground. I worked in the design department and was soon responsible for training new employees and maintaining the high standards of the company. I enjoyed the close contact with the many regular clients.High points of this job included producing a design which won the first place at a national corporate competition - and producing a bespoke application which streamlined the way our workflow was handled in-house.

I joined Artlink as a Junior Designer, learning my skills on-the-job. I took to the wide field of graphic design applications I was required to master well and quickly became a Senior Designer, responsible for producing press advertisements, point-of-sale display designs, vehicle livery, corporate logos and ID, full colour-brochures etc.
