Leaders at the Urbana Park District's Nature Day camp plan, facilitate, and educate the area's youth on environmentally related topics. We work with groups of 12 campers from ages 6-12 throughout 9-10 weeks to assist in their growth as children by planning games, crafts, and discussions about the environment and other relevant topics daily from 8 AM - 3 PM on weekdays. Additionally, we present ourselves as role models to other young adults looking for leadership experience and skills (aged 13-18) who assist the leaders with their daily plans. Through the adaptation of the "You Belong Here" mentality, we provide that all backgrounds of individuals are welcomed to the camp and that everyone has an opportunity for success and learning.
