I lead a cross functional team of engineers focused on production development and support. This team includes all of Chroma's process, software, systems, and quality engineers. Together, we are responsible for the capabilities, yield, cycle times, and capacities of the manufacturing system. We develop and maintain Chroma's thin film coating processes, proprietary software, advanced automation, test & measurement, and other production processes.Working closely with the Executive leadership, I strategize the actions needed throughout our manufacturing system to achieve Chroma's corporate objectives. I drive change and sustain continuous improvement through team leadership, judicious resource management, and an emphasis on data-centric decision making and creative problem solving. Every once in a while I still get the opportunity to do some good old technical engineering work, too.

My primary responsibilities involve the development and maintenance of automated control packages for new and existing thin film deposition systems, and other production and assembly systems. I am also responsible for various production support software such as our in-house thin film design package, and our deposition simulator. The majority of my Chroma programming is in Delphi for Win32, with some microcontroller code in C and PLC ladder logic for good measure.I chair Chroma's Process Improvement Group (the PIG), which is a team of highly skilled and experienced employees tasked with solving our most difficult manufacturing process problems.Chroma is an employee owned company.

I was solely responsible for all aspects of the software design, creation, and maintenance for Intlvac's custom high vacuum systems. My largest project involved design and implementation of a generic control and automation system using a TCP/IP network of microcontrollers and a LabVIEW driven PC front end. I performed a large portion of Intlvac's field service, including system installations and was heavily involved in system design, manufacturing, and documentation.

As a Product TE I was part test hardware designer, data analyst, customer liaison, and product engineer. In addition to ongoing improvement of existing test processes, I was responsible for special projects such as the successful emergency bring-up of a Functional Test as part of a high profile project for Celestica’s largest customer.Half my internship was spent on the TE software team where I became the primary developer for our portion of the LabVIEW based test suite, and owned several other projects through development and well into their deployment.
