• Perform pre-test planning with design and validation engineers to discuss concerns and/or problems being investigated and establish clear test objectives• Create a test plan with the schedule, instrumentation & data collection, and machine operations needed to meet those objectives• Review and apply standard test procedures where appropriate. Innovate and document new testing methods as warranted• Work with the product groups to ensure machines are updated and fit for testing with the appropriate hardware and software• Collaborate with test support staff including instrumentation and machine technicians, and expert machine operators to prepare machines and test sites / equipment for the tests, at times assisting with the completion of these tasks• Lead the completion of machine test & development activities safely, on schedule, and on budget• Review and analyze test data utilizing various software including Data Analysis Toolkit (DATK) and MS Office• Develop and document clear conclusions and recommendations as well as any failures or issues found during the testing and communicate those results to the product groups.• Coordinate post-test removal of instrumentation and return of machine to pre-test or desired state as agreed upon with the product group engineers• Archive all testing information and documentation and share any lessons learned with the rest of the test & development team

Primary duties include creating and executing tests on various tires for OEM and competitive racing clients based on their test specifications and the limitations of the testing rig.Record real time data and observations relative to the performance of tests in daily test logs and compile all information in a daily report. Frequently perform data quality checks both in real time and during post data processing. Duties also include hands-on elements to complete testing requirements.Additional duties include operating and maintaining heavy testing machinery, performing tire and roadway belt changes.Heavily involved in design of one-of-a-kind fixtures using CAD software to overcome the limitations of the tire testing rig for specialized testing.Often create written procedures and test plans.
