I have 29 years of experience in higher education. I was a staff member at the University of Denver for 10 years. While there I served as the assistant instructional designer for their adult education program, University College. I also served as the student information coordinator for University College and the Department Coordinator for the Department of Engineering. I was also responsible for writing and editing newsletters and have experience in graduate recruitment. The University awarded me its Red and Gold Award in 2003, one of the highest awards given to non-faculty employees, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the university and the local community. I have spent the past 17 years teaching Philosophy and Religious Studies courses, both online and onsite, at several California Community Colleges. I am skilled in classroom management, learning management systems, public speaking, writing, editing, research, lesson planning, and curriculum development.Before beginning a career in education, I was a writer for a family of newspapers in Colorado. I have a shared editorial writing award from the Colorado Press Association and was nominated for several CPA awards.I am also the host and producer of the Rebel Spirit Radio podcast which explores topics in spirituality, the frontiers of consciousness, the esoteric, and humanity's sacred relationship to a living earth.
