Nicholas Mcinroy Email and Phone Number
Being someone who has always thought logically, I felt a natural connection to programming. I knew early on that I wanted to pursue a career in software engineering or game development. I feel great satisfaction in debugging a tricky bug, designing well-architected code, and especially optimizing already existing code.I have strong knowledge of C#, the Unity 3D Engine, 3D game physics, agile development, and source control. I also am familiar with C++, graphics programming, artificial intelligence behavior trees and state machines, data structures and algorithms, Photoshop, Blender, and more.

Software EngineerKby Software Nov 2018 - Dec 2019Orlando, Florida, UsAt KBY Software, I was contracted as a Unity developer to support the developments of an aircraft pushback simulator and was later also put on an aircraft deicing simulator in conjunction. The purposes of these simulators were to allow new ground support equipment (GSE) trainees to gain real-world experience without the risk of damage to millions of dollars in equipment at companies such as United Airlines, FedEx, and Swissport Mexico.I was responsible for implementing voice commands, AI behavior trees, auto-piloting using an already existing vehicle controller, waypoint systems, and custom courseware depending on the clients' specifications to name a few. My work primarily involved implementing features found in real-world GSE equipment, writing scripts in C# to go along with these features, and making our simulator look as realistic as possible. I also had to familiarize myself with modeling software, image editors, and our own in house shaders and compute shaders.During my time at KBY Software, I have learned to use the modeling software Blender on my own accord to help offset the load and need of our outsourced artists. I made edits to already existing meshes so that they could be more articulated in the Unity engine, remapped UV maps of already textured objects, and fixed errors or gaps in the meshes. Using my preexisting knowledge in digital design and Photoshop, I was in charge of creating most of the marketing material for our simulators. Of which several are published in places like Ground Support Weekly, Ground Support Worldwide, and AviationPros.com.
