Using my extensive corporate and start-up experience in Insurance Product & Underwriting to contribute to both the development, deployment and ongoing management of insurance products.Actively involved in the Insurtech start-up space, leveraging my previous experience from 3 different start-up insurance offerings.

PD Insurance Agency was a new business launched after the sale of the Progressive Insurance (US) Australian business to a shareholder consortium which included Hollard as Underwriter. My role as Head of Product was responsible for Underwriting acceptance, Risk selection, Pricing & profitability, New prospect conversion and existing customer retention, Partner channel sales relationships, Business platform owner and the Online acquisition/retention experience.

Startup of Progressive Insurance in Australia, intending to build a path for international expansion, this was a low cost, online model offering lower prices for customers willing to manage their own car insurance online.After the initial development phase I was responsible for Underwriting, Risk selection, Pricing and profitability, New prospect conversion/Existing customer retention, Business platform owner and Online experience to maximise acquisition, policy management and renewal.Progressive decided to focus on growth opportunities in the US domestic market and sold the business to a shareholder consortium in March 2017.

After 3 years involved in building the business case, developing the systems, experience and brand behind the launch of the Bingle startup, I was responsible for the growth and profitability of the fledgling business.As one of the first of the truly online-focussed financial services providers, this was a real learning curve in generating new brand awareness, enabling easy online customer experiences, fine-tuning of product offerings, expense containment and competitive but sustainable pricing.

Amongst other projects including the roll out of mobile technology for Home Insurance assessing, the key project in this period was the role I played in launching the Bingle brand. Developing the Business case, designing the online experience, developing the brand look and feel and building the system and operations capability, this was an extensive 3 year project at the cutting edge of the car insurance market.

Setup the NSW operations for AAMI's venture into Commercial Claims Management with the objective of offering AAMI's assessing and claims cost management nous to commercial and fleet clients, such as Royal & Sun, OAMPS & Comcover.
