I am principally responsible for the business development, project oversight, and staff management of a cultural resource management firm on Oʻahu. My projects cover all phases of historic preservation review and compliance, from initial Section 106/Chapter 6E consultation, archaeological inventory survey, monitoring, data recovery, NAGPRA, and cultural impact assessments. The geographic scope of projects have covered all major Hawaiian islands. I'm responsible for the direct management of relationships with clients, federal agencies, the State Historic Preservation Division, other State agencies, Native Hawaiian Organizations, and other community and special interest groups.

I am primarily responsible for the development and management of the State of Hawai‘i's Historic Preservation GIS Program at the State Historic Preservation Division (SHPD) where I have developed the short- and long-term strategic action plan and goals of the State's Cultural Resources GIS Program through FY2016, reporting directly to the Administrator of the SHPD. I have also assisted in the development of office-wide SOPs for Suvery & Inventory and Review & Compliance.The initial development of the GIS inventory required the standardization and completion of metadata for 15,000+ legacy GIS elements and continues through pursuing the identification and digitization of the remaining 40,000+ known cultural resource sites. To guide the development of new data in the State, I have created the Statewide Standards for the Creation of Cultural Resources Geospatial Data which guide the creation and submission of data for newly identified cultural resources. I additionally oversee the submission of new data from firms and the assignment of site numbers.I engage in most HPF program areas, including: leading, advise, and/or assisting in survey and inventory activities conducted directly by the SHPD or contracted out; assisting in State and Federal review and compliance guided by Section 106, HRS 6E, Section 4(f), etc.; developing capacity and providing technical assistance to the Certified Local Government (CLG) program; and coordinating the mapping of and assisting in the review of National and State Registers nominations.I have managed or assisted with numerous sub-grants and been responsible for the evaluation and acceptance of the final deliverables.
