The majority of my career has been in non-profit work where I developed a broad understanding and passion for servant leadership and community development. I began my career as a Sports Director at The YMCA managing a program area with annual participation of 4000 athletes, 150 volunteers, and 75 part time employees. I did that for 8 years before transitioning to Membership Director for 2 years, and then Director of Branch Operations for 2 more years. In that role, I directly managed a staff team of 6 full time people, and was responsible for 125 part time branch employees. In addition, I also worked directly with a board comprised of 20 volunteers made up of strong community leaders. I have a background in fundraising, staff and board leadership, program/community development, and leading the operations of a 75,000 square ft. fitness facility. We served 4000 membership units, 5000 program participants, and a large before and after school program held at schools within neighboring districts. Through this, I was responsible for a budget of just over $4 million annually. 6 months ago, I made a career shift, and am currently the Operations manager at Cannonsburg Wood Products. We produce and sell wholesale landscape material such as mulch, topsoil, and aggregate. In this new job, I've learned how to operate heavy equipment, and work closely with a team of truck drivers and product workers. It's been great to develop a new skill set and experience a whole new line of work.
