"To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."I have held engineering and management positions at companies involved in image sensor and digital camera design and micro-optics manufacturing. I have done optical modeling and tolerance analysis of micro-optical designs.My interests are in solving extremely challenging problems. Lately they have involved imaging and vision problems in which I have: • Pushed the boundaries of image engineering: from initial image acquisition to final image display. • Developed color processing and image quality enhancements. • Applied custom calibration and correction techniques.All with a view of eking out as much performance as possible. This has been largely done by leveraging a deep understanding of the underlying semiconductor device and color physics.I also have interests in the device physics of opto-electronic and imaging devices, microelectronic/optical modeling, design, and processing. Lately I have been considering "AI" approaches in computer vision. I am as comfortable in front of a customer as I am in a cleanroom lab or doing modeling. I place an emphasis on robust designs that are manufacturable and meet cost targets all the while infusing excitement into the team. I have an eclectic set of skills and experience including: CCD design and test having taped out several imager designs, OEM cameras for industrial and medical optical inspection, image processing, silicon and III-V processing, micro-optics modeling, optical instrumentation, gaussian beam propagation and tolerance analysis. I also have interests in human vision and in the theory of color. Specialties: Electro-optics test and design, image sensor device physics and design, color processing, image quality tuning, articulating product requirements, and algorithm development for image enhancements and calibration.
