They had completed two small projects but now wanted an experienced team to grow the company. The initial brief was to form the construction department which initially consisted of one site manager. The team was built to include an architect, quantity surveyor, three site managers, sales manageress, maintenance manager and secretary. Working on a variety of bespoke schemes that included refurbishment, new build, apartments, bungalows etc. Responsibilities were to drive the company through land appraisals, planning permissions, construction and sales. Scheme sizes from 12 to 90 units.Included being fast tracked for NHBC registration, setting up complete systems for Health & Safety, site management, accounting, budgeting, trade specifications etc. Initial targets involved three concurrent sites, growing to four or five and a plan to grow to 200 units per annum over the next five years. After two years, the owners decided not to sell any of the developments, instead renting out the accommodation and closing down the construction side.
