Currently I lead the data team at Purple working on internal and customer-facing analytics helping stakeholders get the most out of our data. Previously a Research Scientist with over 10 years experience working with X-Ray and Nuclear imaging equipment as well as radiation detection equipment for the Cargo Security and Medical Imaging industries. Graduated with a M.Math (first class) from the University of Manchester in 2009, a MRes (Distinction) from University College London in 2012, and a PhD at UCL in 2016, where I investigated Time-of-Flight x-ray imaging for Cargo security.Specialties: X-Ray Imaging, Radiation Detection, Monte Carlo Simulations, Image Reconstruction, Nuclear Imaging, SPECT/PET Imaging, Algorithms, MATLAB, Python, Julia, Data Analysis, Data warehousing, dbt, Big Query, Airflow

My role was as a research scientist at Rapiscan Systems, working on a number of varied projects including Pulse Pileup Processing for x-ray detectors and Magnetic Polarizability Tensor reconstruction using standard Metal Detectors.

I completed a PhD at UCL in three dimensional x-ray imaging, using Time-of-Flight techniques to reconstruct the position of scattered photons. This project combines experimental work at specialist facilities, including the Versatile Electron Linear Accelerator at STFC Daresbury where I was the first user of the beam, simulation work, Monte Carlo (Geant4).

Studied a 1 year MRes in Security Science at the UCL SECReT Doctoral Training Centre. The project examined the feasibility of using a Time-of-Flight technique to recover three dimensional information of an object under inspection (cargo container). The project mainly consisted of Monte Carlo simulations to further our understanding of the technique.

I am currently a Scientist working within the Engineering department at Rapiscan Systems Cargo Division.I work on Radiation Imaging & Detection systems; including High and Low Energy X-Ray Transmission Imaging systems, Radiation Detection (Gamma-Rays & Neutrons) and Low Energy X-Ray Backscatter Imaging systems.I am involved in both commissioning systems.

Upon completion of my M.Math I continued my 4th year project on & undertook a feasability study on Gamma Ray Computed Tomography of Oil Pipes in a joint project between the University of Manchester & Tracerco, funded by VCIPT.I wrote a MATLAB based Image Reconstruction Algorithm to improve the quality of the CT images.I also suggested further improvements.
