CIS graduate with a bachelors degree in business administration from James Madison University with experience in programming with Python, Java, C#, ASP.NET Core, web design and development with HTML/CSS, cloud administration with AWS, database design and modeling with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle SQL, business process modeling with Visio, System Development using Scrum/Agile, User Stories, and Class Diagrams, System Analysis using Systems Requests, Feasibility Analysis, Requirements Gathering, and Use Case Diagrams, Project Management using Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams, and Trello, and Cybersecurity using Risk and Vulnerability Assessments. Important classes I have taken to learn these skills include but are not limited to principles of programming with python, cloud server management, database design and application, enterprise architecture, business analytics one and two, computer and telecommunication networks, intermediate computer programming, computer security management, information systems project management, systems analysis and design, and information system development and implementation. I have also taken COB300 which is a semester long group project where you create a theoretical business and product from scratch and submit a business plan proposal at the end of the semester. The proposal included heavy amounts of information that pertain to managing, financing, operating, and marketing a business and a product. The class was intense, but it taught me skills on how to work well in groups and in real world work environment. Additionally, the CIS capstone "Information System Development and Implementation" was a semester long project that I and group of eight others got the opportunity to work with a real client that was external from JMU students, staff, and faculty. The project entailed working and creating a finalized website that was hosted on AWS that met and exceeded the expectations of the client. From doing full stack development, managing teammates and their communications, scheduling and attending meetings, completing adequate documentation, and delegating work task and much more, I feel this class gave me experience that can and will be applied in the real world especially with working interactively with teams and clients.
