Propel Swim Academy is a year-round swim lesson provider in Northern Virginia serving over 1,700 weekly swimmers. I lead and manage the people running the main functions of the business; Sales & Service, Operations, HR/Finance, and Special Programs. Specifically involved in facility management, leadership coaching, business development, managerial accounting, and business growth for our company. I also work closely with our customers to find solutions and provide information to solve their day to day challenges. I am in charge of tracking our KPI's, developing long term goals for the company, and driving change at various levels of the organization. Highly active in the swim school industry and other business communities, I keep an ear to the round, watching out for emerging technologies and techniques that can help us provide more value to our swimmers and the families that we serve. In addition to my day-to-day roles, I brought to the company a self-developed, 13-level swim class curriculum for swimmers ages 3-15 who range in ability from beginner to expert. This curriculum has to date been used by over a hundred brand new Swim Instructors to teach thousands of children to learn how to swim! Along with the class curriculum, I also developed a 40-hour Swim Instructor Training Program that includes classroom, online, and live class learning experiences. In my first couple of years with the company I have also developed a training manual and ongoing development system for Pool-Side Managers who, being the liaison between our swim instructors and the parents of our swimmers, must have excellent customer communication and service in addition to in-depth knowledge about swimming, our swim curriculum, and child development.

As the Operations Manager at Propel Swim Academy, I was responsible for managing the company's class schedule, leading a team of 15-25 part-time Swim Instructors, managing and maintaining our 13,000 sq. ft. facility, and training and leading a team of 3-5 pool-side managers. I was also in charge of managing Propel's website and social media on all platforms with the goal of providing a clear pathway for customers to access information to provide value to current customers. These roles are in addition to working shifts as a Pool-Side Manager working with parents to inform them about our programs, how their children will learn to swim, and the importance of learning to swim! As a self-employed swim instructor I was responsible for advertising my service at different country clubs in the Northern Virginia area. I was also responsible for scheduling and teaching of multiple lessons per day at different locations and also handled payments from a clientele that includes parents and pool management companies.

Worked directly with owner Linda Stewart to develop and implement a new swim lesson curriculum and employee training program. The systems I helped implement are still in use 3 years later and have helped Neptune grow their lesson program to full capacity. Neptune Aquatics was recently named best swim lesson program in Vienna, VA for 2015.
