Capital Radio plc Managing Director Century Radio 2000-2005 Network I was appointed Managing Director of the Century Network when we completed the acquisition of Border TV during May 2000. Since disposing of the TV stations to Granada I created a major regional broadcast centre in Manchester, housing three major radio brands and over 80 staff, the key achievements include: • Creating and building a nation brand to complete the corporate parents portfolio• Building the Century network to over 2 million adult weekly reach • Turning £100m investment acquisition in Century into £10m profit per annum• Successfully disposing of our Century East Midlands asset to Chrysalis for £29m• Responsible for the group news output of Capital Radio, including 80 journalists• Century became “runner up” Media Week brand of the Year 2004, second only to the Independent newspaper• Completed strategic programming review and executed decision to reverse out of football commentary in the London market* Represented Capital Radio on sponsors partnership board of Manchester United FC• Representing Capital Radio and Century in Premiership commentary deals with Manchester United, Liverpool, Middlesbrough and Newcastle United• Creating and communicating the company vision and values as part of the Senior Executive team for Capital Radio plc• Named in the north west region “42 under 42” most likely to succeed• Regular commentator on radio and media futures for regional and national press

Capital Radio plc Sales & Marketing Director1995-2000As the Sales and Marketing Director I was responsible for all revenue streams for the radio stations and for the execution of the marketing communications plan. I played a major part in the integration change management process when Emap Radio sold the company to Capital Radio due to licensing restrictions in place by the then Radio Authority.Key achievements include• Being part of the failed MBO team that bid unsuccessfully against Capital Radio when the station was put up for sale due to ownership restrictions but being kept by Capital as the incumbent management team.• Grew revenues over the 5 years for Red Dragon FM from under £2m to over £6m and generating profits of over £3m• Played a lead role in the Manic Millennium concert staged at the Millennium Stadium with the Manic Street Preachers• Red Dragon FM being named “NTL station of the Year 1999”
