I work to create fun, relevant, and meaningful classes for all my students at Grand Blanc High School. I collaborated with colleagues to create and redesign the curriculums for my English 9, English 10, and American Lit. courses to ensure students were receiving the writing and reading skills necessary for today's world. Not only were these skills based units and lessons designed to give students the opportunity to build essential literacy, they also allowed students to explore questions of identity, morality, and creativity. My goal as an educator is to empower students to reach their own potential. Every student has a unique path in life, and I see it as my job to give them the literacy skills they need to find success in their employment and in their personal lives.

Established a safe and welcoming environment for three sections of English 11 and two sections of AP Language and Composition for sixteen weeks and designed and implemented lesson plans independently and collaboratively, adhering to the Common Core State Standards and the Davison curriculum.

As a writing consultant, I worked with students in individual writing sessions to help improve their writing skills. I had the opportunity to help a diverse range of writers from freshman level up to graduate level. Moreover, I worked with online submissions from CMU's global campus, helping students with every step of the writing process.

As a resident assistant (RA), I supervised and helped over 88 freshmen and sophomores. My floor partner and I collaborated on floor decisions, programs, and situations to ensure that the residents were receiving the best experience possible. Furthermore, I designed social and educational programs for residents within the building, quad, and campus. I participated in the Fall training for Residence Life staff by creating and instructing a session focused on the goals and benefits of long term programming. This session focused primarily on my long term academic program that I created to help residents in Beddow Hall stay focused on their grades throughout the year. As a staff member, I received multiple trainings on mental health, diversity, bullying, health conditions, positive relationship building, and effective programming.
