As Head of Education, I lead the team which has created, designed and delivered the London 2012 education programme. My role is to ensure that a world-beating education programme helps to deliver the promise made by Lord Coe when bidding in Singapore – that London, if chosen as host city, would use the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games to inspire young people in the UK and around the world.

I set up EdComs in 1995. EdComs is the UK market leader in 'educational communications' and develops innovative, large-scale education programmes in UK schools and colleges for clients in Government, business and the third sector. EdComs also has a cutting-edge research and consultancy practice in education, as well as a digital specialism and an educational training arm.As Founder and Chief Executive, my role was to innovate and develop profitable new revenue streams for the organization, to lead the company and its people, to drive business development and to promote its work to potential clients, the media and the outside world. And to ensure that the company delivered engaging and exciting learning opportunities to schools, colleges and their communities.

EPR was a publishing company producing educational projects and programmes for commercial clients. I joined as Marketing Director and was promoted to Managing Director.

My job was to commission and develop education programmes and published materials for international learners of the English Language, to develop sales initiatives for these materials and to travel to promote them, working with schools and authors in the key target markets.
