About Nick Grant

I would be amiss if my about section was solely focused on my accomplishments in the professional world. Family is what drives me to do what I do and do it to the best of my ability. I wouldn’t be able to do any of it without the support of my wife and three wonderful boys. As for my professional life, I have one simple mantra, build cool shit! It doesn’t matter what it is I am working on at the end of it I want to look back and say “That’s cool!”. One of my favorite questions is, “Why not?”. As people we are drawn to the path of least resistance because it is the easiest way forward, the problem I have with easy is that easy isn’t fun, if I am choosing to spend 8-12 hours a day working on something I don’t want it to be easy I want it to be fun, so I always ask “Why not?”. We will never know the answer to why not if we don’t at least try to look at it, if we simply except the current status que as adequate we will never know what could have been, or what could be. Regardless of what you are doing and who you are doing it for make sure you push the boundaries, don’t accept good enough. Ask “Why not?” and help the people around you open their minds to the potential of what could be!

Amidst a group of 1200 men, I was chosen to be part of an elite group, a distinct honor that spoke to my abilities and dedication. This group, comprised of fourteen men, we were entrusted with a mission of paramount importance – ensuring the safety and security of high-ranking officials during the most challenging of times in Iraq. Our responsibilities were critical and multi-faceted. We were tasked with driving these officials to and from high-stakes political meetings, navigating through the unpredictable terrains of a conflict zone. But our role extended beyond just transportation; we were also the foot soldiers of diplomacy. We patrolled on foot through the cities of Iraq, a ground-level endeavor to meet with locals, understand their perspectives, and assess the progress being made in those turbulent times. These foot patrols were not just about maintaining security; they were also about building bridges of understanding in a war-torn landscape. Each step we took through the cities was a step towards mutual understanding, gauging the pulse of the local communities, and bringing back insights that were crucial for informed decision-making.This role as a Squad Leader in the US Army was more than a position; it was a testament to leadership under pressure, strategic thinking in the face of uncertainty, and the unyielding commitment to a cause greater than oneself. It was about being a protector, a diplomat, and a leader, all rolled into one, in the service of my country and its mission in Iraq." Show less
