I am a Research Scientist at the Verisk Weather Solutions, working on algorithm development to refine and improve industry leading weather products for a variety of customers. I am part of a dynamic team including scientists and software engineers with varying degrees of customer-facing roles. I develop software for both research and production environments in a dynamic, fast-moving company on cloud-based platforms. My research interests are on the physics of weather and the remote and in-situ instruments involved in collecting data applying both traditional scientific as well as data anlytics methods. I have an expertise in weather radar and applications. I have studied the characteristics of precipitating and non-precipitating cloud systems from the scale of individual cloud and precipitation droplets up to large convective systems that cover hundreds of kilometers. I have experience developing and serving products to customers in both the research and commercial spaces. These include precipitation and hail estimations, wind retrievals, turbulence estimates as well as many research project datasets.Publications list and citations found at:http://scholar.google.com/citations?user=5cW4HgIAAAAJI am a co-admin of the Community Cloud Atlas , a Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/CommunityCloudAtlas) and blog (http://communitycloudatlas.wordpress.com/) page intended to provide a place for people to share pictures of interesting and everyday clouds and weather. We identify cloud types and provide a brief explanation of the science behind their formation. We have more in-depth on the blog forum to allow us to get into the science behind clouds, weather, and optical phenomena.

Research Meteorologist: Radar ApplicationsThe Climate Corporation Oct 2016 - May 2018Seattle, WaAs a Research Scientist at the Climate Corporation, with a focus on weather radar applications. I was project lead for the quantitative precipitation estimation product that served near real-time weather data to both internal and external customers. My expertise helped drive projects for agricultural applications and insights, using a combination of scientific research, statistics and data analytics. I developed software for both research and production environments in a dynamic, fast-moving company. -
Associate Research Scientist And Project Manager Of The Wyoming King AirUniversity Of Wyoming Jan 2015 - Oct 2016Laramie, WyFacilitate deployments of the Wyoming King Air Research Aircraft, including the the Wyoming Cloud Radar and Wyoming Cloud Lidar. Responsibilities include project planning, overseeing deployment logistics, participating as scientific crew on flights, processing and quality control of data, and acting as the primary scientific representative of the Wyoming King Air during field projects. -
Postdoctoral ResearcherUniversity Of Miami Sep 2014 - Jan 2015Norman, OklahomaI am studying the precipitating system structure via airborne weather radar and cloud and precipitation particle probe data aboard the NOAA P-3 aircraft during the DYNAMO experiment. I am synthesizing NOAA P-3 airborne measurements into data files for easy use with numerical simulation experiments. -
Postdoctoral ResearcherCooperative Institute Of Mesoscale Meteorological Studies Sep 2014 - Jan 2015Norman, OklahomaI am evaluating vertical profiles of dual-polarization radar data collected during the Midlatitude Continental Convective Clouds Experiment (MC3E). I am exploring the physical processes that lead to common dual-polarimetric signatures observed, with a specific interest on the mixed-phase hydrometeor regions within cloud systems. When possible, in-situ aircraft observations of hydrometeor particles and state variables are used for verification of hydrometeor population and microphysical processes.
