He enjoyed a distinguished career as a journalist, working for The Age, the ABC and Nine. He covered federal and state politics and was at the centre of some of the biggest stories in Australia including the 2009 Black Saturday Bushfires and 2006 Beaconsfield Mine Rescue.He has since worked in senior communications and corporate affairs roles for some of Australia’s most high profile organisations including the AFL and was instrumental in building the brand of the AFL’s 18th club, the Greater Western Sydney Giants.He played a key role in the successful rebuild of the National Basketball League (NBL) which is now considered the best league in the world outside the NBA. He was seconded by Basketball Australia to crisis manage a major international incident involving the Australian Boomers and the Philippines in Manila in 2018.He was also an executive for two of Australia’s leading industry bodies, the Property Council of Australia and Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and was Director of Communications and Strategy for the Victorian Opposition Leader.
