BIORaised on Decatur County farm. Returned to full time farming after two years logging in Oregon and then receiving a BS degree in Animal Science from Iowa State in 1979. Became 4th generation farmer with cow/calf, corn/beans, and hogs. Started part time employment with USDA in 1983 and full time in 1990. Multi county experience as District Conservationist in Decatur, Appanoose, Clarke, Marion, and Wright Counties. Retired April 2016 after being the District Conservationist in Warren County since 2003. Joined Peoples Company as a consultant August 2016.
