Nick is a third generation emergency services provider that has 15 years experience in Fire & EMS. Nick has been a Nationally Registered Paramedic for 12 years and has served in that role across Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and North Carolina. Additionally he is an experienced educator teaching multiple disciplines in the Fire & Emergency Medical Services field. Starting as a volunteer in southwestern Missouri and having recently arrived at Concord Fire Department in Concord, North Carolina he has managed to successfully embark on a progressive path serving in several positions, currently serving as a firefighter. Career service includes Special Operations, Disaster Medical Specialist, Haz-Mat Medical Specialist, Team Officer and educator. Unique compliments of that capacity include competing at the FDNY MSOC (Medical Special Operations Competition) at Randalls Island, and acquiring specialized training at NASA. Nick has also been a committee member for the FRCE, CFAI Accreditation process, EMS Advisory, Training committee, and Metro Training Officers Association. As an industry educator for 10 years, he has been able to reach many other professionals by passionately teaching at Northwest Arkansas Community College in the Health Professions Program. He was selected in AcademicKeys Who's Who in Community Colleges Higher Education as a top leading influential and industry expert. Additional highlights include being selected by the Resuscitation Academy to be a guest speaker focusing on agency and community integration of geospatial technological advances that allows citizens to receive alerting technology of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests that allows victims to receive CPR and AED delivery prior to the arrival of community 911 services. Nick is also a graduate of the National Fire Academy program Management of EMS (MEMS). He is a credentialed instructor with TEEX (Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service) as an ALERRT Instructor as well as the University of Miami Gordon School of Medicine. Nick has experience serving as a community liaison for emergency preparedness, process improvement and interagency enhancement with local hospitals.As a professional who cares to serve not only citizens, but industry members as well, he has served on the FRCE (First Responder Center for Excellence) workgroup for the development of NFPA 1582 initiatives to improve Industry guidelines that drives Responder Health & Wellness. Professional memberships include IAFC, NREMT, NAEMT, AHA Instructor Network and the NAEMSE.
