With over 13 years of solid experience in the design industry, I’ve successfully provided smart and sound design solutions for regional education, non-profit, and technology communities while developing an outstanding portfolio of work in the process. A majority of those years were spent in an agency setting, and the countless projects have been diverse — full brand identities, design systems, ad campaigns, websites, illustrations, exhibitions, and print material of all shapes and sizes.I now turn my attention to the museum field. In my current position of Art Director at Carnegie Museum of Natural History, my goal is to use my industry experience to build a design department that operates with agency-style efficiency and contemporary design best practices to enhance visitor experience while elevating the Museum’s brand and quality of exhibitions. This museum focus could be seen as a career shift, but museums are where my professional career started. With a history degree in hand, a bit of archival training, and a head full of seemingly worthless facts, my first job out of college was as curator of the Eldred WWII Museum (which, not going to lie, was a bit of a dream job). It was in this role where I discovered a new passion for design and an understanding of the value it could provide. In 2008 I made a true career shift and relocated to Pittsburgh to pursue a degree and career in graphic design.Since then I’ve come to discover that the most rewarding projects for me are those that blend history and heritage with design. I often find those types of projects when I collaborate with museums and other historical entities, which I do regularly on a consultant/freelance basis.Beyond design, I still have that heavily invested interest in history (WWII history to be exact) and can often be found trekking the globe in search of historic, cultural, and gastronomic treasures.Feel free to visit my online design portfolio at pascuzzidesign.com.
