• Reporting to Operations Manager, heading up a team of 60 staff and 14ksqft of floor space generating revenues of £8.2mpa • After the takeover of Co-Operative Group by Waitrose, operated as Branch Manager in a training capacity, handling the development of 300 staff generating revenues of over £350k per week • Whilst at Co-operative Group, managed three different stores in the south west of England, with full accountability for financial performance across major cost lines •… Show more • Reporting to Operations Manager, heading up a team of 60 staff and 14ksqft of floor space generating revenues of £8.2mpa • After the takeover of Co-Operative Group by Waitrose, operated as Branch Manager in a training capacity, handling the development of 300 staff generating revenues of over £350k per week • Whilst at Co-operative Group, managed three different stores in the south west of England, with full accountability for financial performance across major cost lines • Responsible for financial and operational performance, effectively controlling sales, waste, labour and stock loss • Successfully building a high performing, customer focussed team, motivated to ensure outstanding service delivery • Coordinating the provision of on-going coaching and support to all members of the team and setting realistic targets based on business priorities • Responsible for ensuring optimum stock availability and quality at all times, implementing effective visual merchandising to improve the customer experience and maximise sales • Encouraging individual accountability and process ownership based on analysis of previous audit results with a view to improving legality and results • Deputising and taking full responsibility for the role of Operations Manager on frequent occasionsKey achievements: • After just one year as Store Manager, personally nominated for, and completing, the mentor management course. • Achieving consistently positive results in quarterly performance reviews, graded Gold and Green at all times on a scale of red, amber, green and gold. • Achieving substantial sales growth in all three stores managed during this time, with the first store enjoying +25% year on year growth. • Implementing robust stock and cost controls resulting in positive stock take results and a reduction in losses. a key member of the store management team, retained in the store throughout the Co-operative Group and Somerfield group acquisition by Waitrose.
